anux7363yMake sure that fuck doesn't get away with it.
Had a guy like that. When I pressed, he shared a lame alternative and when I pointed out the flaws he'd just say there are no good alternatives and wouldn't even apologize. -
@anux I've experienced stuff like this. Where a peer just wants to feel smart so they'll say "well we could do it this way" while having no idea what they're talking about. You have to form a habit of going: "oh yeah? Please do explain. No really, I insist".

anux7363y@ChaoticGoods absolutely. It's worse if that smartass happens to be a senior. 'You do it this way and then you will know.' No you life draining fuck, I can see that it will be a useless rework. Wouldn't fucking budge. It was a toxic place.

and now i've done the thing, it has negligible benefits outside of satisfying an academic hardon and it breaks shit which i now need to debug

Do the alternatives work just as well/meet the requirements/have a benefit over the first choice? There are always alternatives but choosing the right one for the job is the key. Can they justify that it wasn't the right choice that you made?
senior "don't do it like this, there are alternatives"
doesn't mention the alternatives
thanks? i can look into implementing it how you want if you'd elaborate the alternatives....
