I suggest you contact aws and explain. If this happened first time, they may refund you.
-
RahulSG23yYeah well this happened to me too.. I just created a new account and the old one got suspended XD
-
arjun-123523y@marcus5914 That was my first thought but unfortunately they said that there was nothing I could do about it. It's kinda sad but hey, now I will always remember to shut down my EC2 instances so I guess it was a good, but expensive, learning opportunity.

arjun-123523y@RahulSG Yea but that would mean I would have to make a new AWS account which would mean I would need a new credit card number and I really don't wanna ask my parents.
-
RahulSG23y@arjun-123 Understandable..I was in the same situation.. But you dont need a credit card number though, if you use paytm or something, you can use their virtual cards
-
arjun-123523y@RahulSG oh ok, I might try to use some free visa gift cards that I have lying around to see if I can create a new AWS account cause I am studying for my AWS Developer Associate exam right now so an AWS account would be useful for studying. Thanks for the idea!

@RahulSG I also suggest steuping billing alert on your account. I do for all the cloud provider I use.
-
arjun-123523y@marcus5914 Yea no, I should have done that but uhh.......I decided to skip that part of my AWS Solutions Architect course.

If you call their support and can show that you understand how AWS works, then they'll likely give you a refund. I was paying $400 a month for 3 months on my personal account but I couldn't work out why. I called them thinking that they'd made a mistake and that SageMaker was broken. It turns out that I was looking at the wrong region and was just getting confused between a m5.4xlarge and a m5.16xlarge.

arjun-123523y@cmarshall10450 Oh ok, , I'll try that, thank you so much! I haven't paid for the bill yet so I think I can probably still get some sort of refund.
