It seems my ceo actively goes around telling people to micromanage. I always thought that was bad.

Our CEO is also our manager, and he actually does micromanaging the correct way.

He only does regular check-ups on the juniors, like:

"Hey, you need any assistance? Just scream out loud if you get stuck anywhere and someone will come running"

"How's it going? Just wanted to tell you that you're doing a great job, let me or *insert senior developer name* know if you need anything =)"

This is the only kind of micromanaging I can accept, and he does not do this to all of us, just the newcomers.
