Football/futbol/soccer analogy:

Frontend engineers are like strikers - you see their work, good and bad, and you don’t notice how many contribute to their success. Backend engineers are like goalies - you only really notice when they do a _bad_ job and don’t see how many things contribute to their failure.

I'd go for the defenders to be honest. Goalkeeper also gets attributed the saves and are quite famous. It would be open season on them but for the defenders. However that rarely ever gets noticed

Just to clarify, my picture somehow offended frontend person, he told me I don't appreciate frontend.

I kinda like that analogy. Frontend are the guys randomly running around, shooting and fighting over who has the newest node while Backend is actually standing where they are supposed to be doing their job and making sure the viewers actually have something to look at, because a match without goalies would be over in about 15 minutes
