kunashe19878yI'm not sure if this helps but if there are particularly long files, he could copy and paste into codeshare.io/

mhudson12938yNotepad++ has a portable version. Not perfect, but it's a couple steps better than notepad.

How anyone could do any work without owning the system is beyond me. I don't care whether it's a workstation or laptop, whether it's linux or osx... No sudo, no work.

@bittersweet my parents haven't given me administrator access to my computer, I have just learnt how to use portable software

@-ScratchOs Ouch, tough. I get that both employers and parents (they can have a lot in common) have the urge to control their flock.
But in any relationship honesty, communication and trust will work better than suspicion and control. -

I've been in a similar situation, not with having no install permissions, but in having no computer, I had to take turns with my friend at work, where he had to do reports and stuff and I had to install and use xcode and Android studio lol, dunno what's worse the fact I sat there twiddling my thumbs or I write 2 1/2 lines of code and get kicked off because friend needs to answer an email lol
if a company is going to hire someone they should have equipment on standby :/
