Use hard-coded string literals instead of using string resources in Android projects.

Don't worry, you will curse yourself later when you have to internationalize your app

Really depends on the market you are developing for, some apps are impossible to internationalize, like an app for local transit schedule.
Anyhow, I use string resources always, got used to that when I first learned Android development
