Android guys, is it true that marshmallow requires location enabled for Bluetooth pairing?

I find this popup odd.

    Maybe if u set up ur connections on specific locations on specific timings, the Android will save you the trouble and do it automatically for you, while silently observing you for a week or two

    Damn. I think this pedometer app is also syncing my gps data. God knows who they are selling it to.. :/

    @sam9669 that's not the problem. I think this app is being skechy and collecting my location data when the app or their service itself has no feature that requires gps.

    It's required for Bluetooth low energy (4.0 and up)
