Hello devRanters. I'm new to this community but I've already started feeling comfortable here. You guys are great!

I don't understand why there are more rants about front end developers. I hardly see any rant by a system developer or a security analyst.

Because system and security devs are unwashed plebs and front-end devs are unwashed plebs with megaphones and poster board.

@mantekillah ah so you're an unwashed pleb that drives a better car than I do.

@projektaquarius doubt it, I drive a Prius. Also, I prefer to call myself an intelligent pleb that makes a shitload just playing with databases. ❤

@mantekillah you can be smart and unwashed. Although since you drive a prius, you're simply an unwashed pleb who makes more money than me.

We wanted to fill everyone in on some interesting data from our recent user survey. The top five primary dev roles were "Full-stack web developer" (24% of respondents), "Back-end web developer" (9%), "Front-end web developer" (8%), "Mobile developer" (6%), and "Desktop developer" (5%). Years of programming experience saw 3-5 years in the top spot with 43% of respondents, then 6-10 years (20%), 1-2 years (19%), 11+ years (13%) and <1 year (5%)
