Then i tried to copy the exact sample code and it ALSO DIDN'T WORK.

AND THEN FUCKING VSCODE shows errors THAT AREN'T EVEN THERE. THEY MAYBE WERE THERE 10 MINUTES AGO. IS THIS SOME FUCKING INTERNET EXPLORER SHIT. ALSO COMPILING THROUGH IT DOESN'T WORK JUST THROUGH THE COMMAND LINE. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH FUCK IT

I was looking yesterday for a broken git dockerbuild (image not found) till I realized that I had a copy n pasta bug...
Wrong variable for the tag for an image...

Of course the image cannot exist if the reference for the image is wrong.

We're all mad here. XD

@IntrusionCM yeah well but i copy pasta da example and changed the variables to my need and it had compilation errors not bugs but compilation errors and while i could run it from the cli, vscode marked nearly the whole file as an error

@jonas-w Depends entirely on language.

As an example, when you don't enable it, Python Extension in VSCode doesn't check type hinting by default.

... Which is in my opinion the most stupid thing to do - while type hints do not reach the level of static typing, they're extremely useful.

Just one example - there are more.

I love VSCode never the less - but the initial setup, staring at debug logs and finding the right settings is a real pain in the arse.

You'll just need to find the right settings, sadly.

The great thing about Linux is that you have a lot more stuff to play with.

As an example - tmpfs.

Nothings greater for testing if IO is the problem.

Mount a tmpfs, copy files there, if it runs smoothly, instant validation that something interferes in IO.

If other processes interfere - check lsof / remove permissions and check what suddenly crashes.

Etc.
