When it's 10pm and you decide to install Arch Linux.

Suddenly, it's 6AM and you still don't have it working correctly...

    Especially when you have really old or really new systems.

    Tried it once. Back to Ubuntu too. I know about the "Ubuntu is unstable and sh*t" thing but for a web dev, it's almost like one hour to format, install and be ready to work!

    you guys should try Manjaro, it's based on Arch

    Manjaro++ I'm a web dev as well, you get everything from arch but with an abstraction layer over first install/setup. I'm currently running the budgie Desktop Environment, but another great thing about manjaro is that because it's rolling release, you don't have to worry that your less know favourite flavour will only be out after the main distro release... I'm never going back to Ubuntu

    @kronolynx @afduarte I think you both convinced me to give it a try tonight!

    Arch used to have a pretty simple installer but for some reason they ditched it. I never had the time to go through the whole install process again after that. Except on my raspberry pi, that's pretty simple to get going.

    After reinstallibg it ~10 times, I'm down to an hour!

    It can be much quicker, if you have better internet speed.. ;)

    @nmunro really? happy days...

    @afduarte It wasn't anaconda or ubiinstaller or anything, but for arch it was simple, I think noone was maintaining it so they dropped it, I may be mistaken though.

    @nmunro okay, fair enough... I think the reason why not a lot of people use arch is how hard it is to set up... Manjaro is changing that though, I think

    @afduarte Yeah, I was just lamenting the fact that it wasn't always that way...

    I love arch. Install in ~2 hours. I have a list of all my must have programs in my top drawer.
