I might give that a try. I was just going to get a cheap set, then possibly get a good set of over-ear noise cancelling ones. Seems like a good excuse to upgrade anyway! -
The solution would be to never wash your clothes. 75% of the time it works every time.

I always wash my earphones when they stop working and they work again after that
I accidentally washed my headphones along with my clothes last night. One side has lost all bass π’
On the plus side, they smell amazing.
