I didn't start coding until my 30s. I enjoy learning spoken languages, and heard on a radio show that computer coding works the same parts of the brain. Tried it and became an addiction. Been building things ever since, and now making it a career.

I've always been similarly minded, though I dabbled in BASIC when I was 9, html and Japanese by 11, followed by almost every currently spoken germanic language until a few years ago until I've finally settled on Icelandic and javascript to learn properly. I've also been into linguistics itself, maths, music, and physics. It all ties up nicely together. :)

    I couldn't agree more!

Same here. The jump from German & Russian to PHP isn't proving as huge as you'd think for two - ostensibly - unrelated fields.

My brain must be wired differently; I've learned various computer languages over the years (currently in my mid 20s) and I have never successfully learned another spoke language... At all. I barely know English.
