For fuck sake, one small bug and my app immediatly gets a 2 star rating. HOW ABOUT YOU REPORT THE FUCKING BUG TO ME SO I CAN FUCKING FIX IT. MY EMAIL IS IN THE GODDAMN DESCRIPTION. HOW FUCKING HARD IS IT TO SEND ME AN EMAIL INSTEAD OF A WORTHLESS RATING.

I don't feel like developing a project when it recieves a negative comment. But, it's that one good guy who appreciates the app that gets me to release the next update.

Try and ignore the low ratings, there are others who depend on you!

Such is life man. Users are merciless. They don't care if you used Java, C#, Swift, Objective C. They don't care if you have 10 units tests for each feature. They don't care if you used code best practices or spaghetti bolognese. They don't care if you spent 5 hours on the app or 5 months. All they care about is if it works, and that kind of is your responsibility as a dev.

    Good luck with the app!

    That's pretty dumb.

You might try some of these techniques if you want to try turning them around:

Do you think idiots know how to send email?

The rating system shows how horrible bosses users can be. Most people wont care about giving your app a good rating if they like it, but the moment they find an issue, they will give a one star rating.

Exactly. People hardly ever give positive review but once they find a single bug, one freaking bug, they will give negative review.
I think it's just us developers who know how it feels to read a good review.
So please people, we know each others feelings, whenever you see a new app do give some positive review and report bugs in emails.

@ClemFrieckie I have gotten some replies. Some apps were super positive and the best one I have ever dealt with was the team for NetSpotApp. I have had some dickbag responses from others as well. But you are right, mostly no replies.

@jallman112 TimeTune your app? Are there stats for success rate of each of those questions?

What can I say? Development is a thankless job.

You should add a pop-up message with:
Encountered bugs? Report it to the developer immediately!

    Description

@Deserter pop-up, then he will get bad reviews because the pop-up ;)

@qwerty1337 Not everytime, of course. There should be a small button like "Spotted a bug?" at one of the bottom corner would trigger the pop-up.
