Is there a website blog where you can submit tutorials for other devs? And if so, is there a way for devs who find the article useful to (optionally) donate a tip like the price of a cup of coffee or similar?

    If not, I'm starting one... unfortunately onlydevs.com is taken :D

    I don't think so, but sounds like a fun idea

    Definitely nothing centralized, but sounds great. Something like skillshare without paywall

    Maybe with a rating system too so bad or out of date ones can get knocked down.

    The number of times I've found an out of date tutorial that lost me a few hours of time.

    @ojt-rant Or they need to clearly state versions of libraries or languages involved. Sometimes older tutorials are useful when your stuck with older php or something similar.

    but pls no web3 bullshit, thanks!

    I'd contribute if you started it up, this month I've spent fucking days looking for Android solutions. They're always really simple but you have to wade through so much irrelevant crap to find the bit you need. If I could save another dev a month I'd like to.

    I'd suggest to make your blog site and include a footer with GitHub Sponsor, Ko-Fi, or Patreon "cute-looking cat with a coffee" section.

    @jonas-w all the web3 tutorials should just link to a gmap route to the nearest cliff/suspension bridge.

    I dunno about how Hashnode authors monetize their articles, but I think this platform has no restriction on ethical donation. It's an option, if you don't wanna worry about SEO and feedback cycle.

    Also, how about dev.to?

    So kind of like Udemy but in blog/short video form?

    I think that would be brilliant

    @jonas-w or fake web3 tutorials that we all rate high just to mess with people.

    @crappycode video or very clear written tutorials.
    I like the idea that it's not all about money, but nice to tip someone who's put in their own time. I'd certainly tip someone for that.

    I should start a web3 certification company.

    @vintprox hashnode looks great, thanks. I'm going do some research and see how it works.

    @MM83 I feel your pain.

    Sad that I'd never be able to use licensed images. Transformers makes any web design look good.

    @ojt-rant try supportdevs.app!

    Supporting developers via an app on their problems by providing tutorials.

    @ojt-rant open source?

    You're describing a personal blog with good SEO and a ko-fi link in the fixed footer.

    By good SEO I obviously mean SSR, great performance, accessibility features, meta tags and good content quality.

    @lbfalvy a community blog, not just for me.

    Ko-fi is sort of the idea, but specified to developer tutorials. Instructables.com but for coding

    @ojt-rant What's the benefit over a properly configured WordPress instance?
  • 1
    @lbfalvy nothing, Wordpress would work.

    But..just, please not Wordpress :)

    I've set up a Ko-fi account :)

    @ojt-rant I brought up WordPress because it's the easiest solution that does everything. My blog does a lot of that with varying success using handmade SSG, React and MDX, but I stopped developing it and I didn't post for half a year.

    I also don't have statistics and comments because I have no intention of using 3rd party trackers and 1st party tracking is finnicky to set up, let alone comments.
