    Buying a cheaper alternative to whatever you were looking for is an instinctive activity for people, so they often forget that the notion of an alternative implies a level of understanding they don't have about software.

    I'm always excited when clients buy something wholly inadequate to save $10 because I get to bill and then highlight all the working hours it took me to build all the features that would've been included in the slightly more expensive version.
