Google Photos <-> Google Drive <-> Google Keep <-> Google Calendar interoperability is _very_ limited as I already knew, but it seems to be even worse for "non-technical" people trying to actually use it

It's seemless.
Even offering options of other Google's other software "packages".
Can put android pictures in Google photos and easily add them in keep notes then share there, later managing access via Drive.
I can't see how that's not interoperability.

@scor yeah, it's a lot easier when using only the mobile apps, as I found out too late (did not mind until now as it worked good enough for me as a dev). Interoperable by default Android intents.

Advice to anyone: don't use the web apps in a desktop browser for anything else than download / preview of images on a large screen.

Yeah, I'm not wild about it. rclone makes up some of the difference, though.

Trying to explain to non-technical users how to use an unintuitive UI, especially like a combination of Android apps, Google Docs / Drive / Photos, and natively installed Microsoft Office software on Windows 10/11. Yes, we did make progress since Xerox Alto, and maybe it's easier and more consistent if we choose Apple's vendor lock in, but how on earth did humanity not manage to set up a proper, accessible and easy-to-use open-source software ecosystem in all those decades?

But then it's no surprise given humanity's success when tackling poverty, injustice, war and climate crisis, or even smaller, more attainable goals like providing fast internet access or trains that run on time.

How did engineers even manage to install water supplies in so many countries? Must have been their lucky day!
