Girlfriend: There are so many passwords to remember, man. What's my amazon password, baby?

Me: Just use a password manager?

Girlfriend: That sort of thing exists?

I'm always 'meh'-ish about password managers. It seems safe, but I didn't program it, so I don't know how it works exactly. I just try to improve my memory and remember all my random passwords between 16 and 32 characters.

I use KeePass as a password manager. It works well, sure less convenient than lastpass, but it's more secure as its only stored locally.

I have been thinking in using something like keePass, but Im worried that it will mess with my already set up two-factor app, Im using Authy, how would that work?

    Does anyone knows?

I am going to build my own password manager soon so I know that my passwords are safe

I go out into the parking lot and pick a random license plate, and that becomes my password, along with a special character. Can't use a manager at work.

If you guys worry about password manager's security, i have solution, I've wrote my personal psw man. It's fully encrypted with crypto. I'm looking forward to redesign it and distribute as open source.😊

@PhantomBKB yes I store the db in my own owncloud instance. I keep the key file local for security.

Find yourself and algo to generate a password using your brain based on several of the following items:
    -service/website name
-initials (or second or third letters) of a random quote
-a character (always at same position) in uppercase
    -a punctuation at the beginning
-someone's birthday, to which you add always the same amount to day and month
For example, for devrant, I can take the ending "nt", the quote "I eat apples for breakfast" which becomes "ieafb", I like number 5 so I put the 5th in uppercase, I chose semicolon as punctuation and my birthday being on 5/7 (and still liking nr 5) it becomes 10/12 the password is:
    ;ntiEafb1012
Dictionary attack proof, social engineering proof, passwords are different for (nearly) every website, and you just have this list of arbitrary rules to remember
