@green-portal that's the problem. they want "full control" of their site. I'm more than happy to oblige, but they can't even seem to figure up how to sign up for an online service 🤦‍♂️

@melezorus34 it's true, the only clown is me 😞

And that is why I don’t work for free or for friends or friends of friends.

Same shit happened to me. Clown ass "startuper" who don't know anything about tech (like you can build and run a tech company without knowing anything about tech lmao).

I was 18 and it was my first contract, was young and stupid and just wanted to build an agency so I was desperate for a portfolio. Kids, you don't ever get anything good out of desperation, know that.

I drafted a pretty simple contract, I kept the intellectual property of the code and did a flat number, 30k for a mobile app of about 10 screens.

The bitch kept adding on, and I said yes because I wanted a happy customer, to the point where it got 100+ screens and my dumb ass basically worked for free for almost two years until I blew the fuck up.

Moral of the story: don't work for clowns, don't be desperate, value yourself, don't be afraid to say "no" and even "fuck you" if you must, use hourly rate over flat rate, and don't let some fat burgess boomer take advantage of your broke millennial/gen z ass. Fuck them.

@Frankistan if i start to freelance crap, i'll make sure to add a "If client requests a new feature, it will be discussed and billed seperately." so i can make sure they either don't add unnecessary shit or just don't do extra work that I don't want, for free
