Dual booting: for when you're not advanced enough to use Linux all the time, but you know windows will let you down

Dual boot? Aww that's cute. I have penta boot. Ubuntu, Fedora, Kali, Windows 7 and 10. 3 in HDD and 2 in SSD. I should take a picture of my GRUB sometime and post it here.

@Folkmann get a VT-D capable CPU and same ram and you should be good to go actually. KVM Virtualization isn't that power hungry anymore these days

I would like to abandon the Windows boot partition but I didn't have the courage yet to stuff the Windows system in a virtual machine because offering GPU acceleration (with full DirectX support) and sound in perfect quality looks like a compliciated business.

@linuxxx Why not use VM's instead?

I have windows for gaming and Adobe suite. Linux is my default now.

@Folkmann @daarkfall @Kimmax the problem of virtualization is that it virtual system inherits many things from base systems that means the problems too

@shiv7071007 can you elaborate on that? We have everything KVM virtualized and I can't think of a such a problem

I don't know about KVM...i am a student ...I was saying that suppose window have some a driver issue and if I run VM over that that issue can be faced in the VM too cause afterall VM will have to transfer the control to the window but if I dual boot this problem will not happen @Kimmax

@shiv7071007 noo. That's not how KVM works. That may be the case with some lightweight virtualization software like VirtualBox.
In case of KVM the Kernel is just a bridge between the VM and the Hardware. Only "tunneling" raw data. The VM handles the driver's etc all on its own.
At home I run a box with a Windows VM, the VM uses the hardware WiFi/Bluetooth card, that would need some kernel module hacking on Linux if I wanted to use it. But with KVM I can assign the bus address of the card to the VM and use it from Windows. Works great, especially because I don't need it on Linux. Same goes with the USB Ports. All using passthrough to Windows except one in case I wanted to use the shell.
GPU passthrough ensures full performance and 3D capabilities in the VM. The host uses the internal gpu. Two cables to the monitor and boom you can switch the inputs just like you would do with another physical PC
