Voxera113888y40 hours, 5 days a week. Labor rules are quite strong but it depends on the size. Smaller or fresh companies often coaxes more since all wish to succeed.
Larger companies often have more rigid unions. And its very hard to fire employees without a very good cause.
You can be required to do overtime but even that is strictly regulated.
If you dont strive to make a carrier you dont have to do excessive overtime.
On the other hand, with a shortage of skilled developers you can make good money working extra if you like. -
In general 40 hours a day and 5 days a week. Overtime expectancy varies for as far as I know :).

I work 45 hours (9 hours per day including lunch break) -
@vortex Holy mother I think that that's even illegal here (officially without overtime of course). Max here is 40 hours for as far as I know
-
vortex47678y@linuxxx seriously?! U work 8 hours a day including lunch??
Well... I read many times that in europe ppl work less hours.. and dont get me started on vacation days.. we are lucky to get 13-15 per year. -
@vortex Well I'm still studying but yeah that's very common if not standard over here. Vacation usually 2-3 weeks a year!
-
@vortex Although I'm in my final exams right now so I'm going into the working world in about a month or two haha.

I am CS student. I work for 8 hours learning some new things, building some basic app locations for practice purpose. Is it good start as I am going to make my career in app development?
Just wondering how many hours a week do most programmers work in your country? How many days a week, and is overtime usually expected from you?
