Scrolljacking is an act against accessibility so harmful that it is never realistically outweighed by the possible benefits.

Footnote: scrolljacking is permissible in order to enable non-janky navigation of large 2D surfaces such as maps, on following conditions:

    - the custom scrolling logic is never enabled by an implicit action such as scrolling the map into view. The custom logic may be enabled by a button or other explicit action

    - it is disabled by a button that is fixed and always visible

    - it extends to the whole viewport or a statically positioned box

Sadly, nobody really cares about accessibility. Not even designers.
