Is it done yet?

Stop micromanaging! We are providing updates every morning, what difference does it make to ask for the update in the evening?!? Don't think no one can see that all you are asking is "is it done yet?"

Like a small child who does not understand the concepts of travel yet, you won't understand why "such a small change" takes so long. It's because we are scooping all the crap, patched by assholes who cared only to please you and did not had the courage to say no to your pressure and do things smart way.

If you think it is necessary to keep reminding everyone to do their job - then you you do not belong in IT.

Worst part is when they ask how long till completion

Why don't you measure the number of words in my commit and divide it by 60 wpm . And then question me why the 120 word method that I wrote took me 2 hours and not 2 minutes ?

You're not wrong, but early in my career as a dev I would get bogged down trying to solve stuff without bothering anyone else lest they judge me.
I know some other people do that too. So maybe working closely with such people is a better solution than blanket spamming "how's it going? Any luck so far?"

@newplayer that's good advice. What happened after my post is that i snapped and i told everything in a heated up way. Then - i apologized and next day we had a meeting where I expressed my feelings in calm and professional fashion. We agreed on some changes to the way we interact and it was quite constructive outcome.
