What historical trends look more ridiculous now than short-form video will look in a few decades?

    youtube shorts is shit. You cannot control playback and you cannot control volume.

    I will not upvote a short video and I am almost to where I won't watch them. I actually left a channel because of this. They went to all shorts.

    @Demolishun that's not even the worst part. The content itself is usually incredibly annoying to fit the format.

    Believing governments are altruistic and want to protect you.

    Believing traditional media tells the truth.

    Remember "Vertical Video Syndrome (VVS)"? It was the attempt to bring people to stop recording vertical videos.

    This was around the "mobile first" agenda and long before TickTock; in the before times.

    It did not succeed.

    @Wisecrack nope.
    they got so popular in israel that the government banned them.

    @Midnight-shcode that was weird enough for me to find out what it was about from a few articles. From what I read, it was the only kind of legally distributed pornography in Israel at the time, and it was most popular among adolescent males. Typically, it depicted allied soldiers who were first brutalised by female SS guards, and later got their revenge in the form of sexual and violent assault. I would assume that there were other storylines as well, but I didn't research it myself.

    With that explanation, I find short-form video more ridiculous. That was a good candidate, nonetheless.
