itch9623948y@pepero working in a team.... Dont you think that the dev should be using effective tools?
If not, it will be same as keep on using legacy versions and not updating to the recent versions... -
pepero2468ySorry, I deleted previous message before you answered, i realized my comment was not really related to your rant :) I was talking about the choice of tools of individuals, not about team work and adaptation of the tools for new team members @itch96

mlucasnrke88yNot every backend is on Linux, not every source repository is in Git. Teach people how to use the tools your team uses. You had to learn once.

itch9623948y@mlucasnrke not all but most are.... Like 95% of them are..... So why be a special cunt and ruin other's lives?
-
mlucasnrke88yIt's more like 80%. That means roughly 1 in 5 dev projects is NOT using php, linux, etc. That an awful lot of developers you are discounting as worthless simply because they work in the minority. I've been doing this for a long time, there is a huge difference between a dev that doesn't know how to do something simply because they haven't worked on it, yet, and a dev that thinks whatever they know is the only thing worth knowing.
I just hate it when people dont know tools of their profession!
You are a dev..... Learn git goddamnit!
You are a frontend dev.... Know SASS and various other tools that will make your and people around you's life easier.
You are a backend dev.... Know how to use linux and know which tool to use to make the app faster.....
Or else dont talk to me and leave me alone.
