After some amdgpu issues, I have Sway/Wayland another shot. It still had several issues I encountered before and then some:

I think Gentoo is fucking something up. I don't have these stability issues with iGPUs on 4700U, 3400G, 5700G, and with 6650 XT dGPU. That's Mint (Cinnamon / X11) with 5.15 kernel based on Ubuntu 22.04.

The only hiccup that I do have is rare suspend / resume crashes with the 6650 XT, requiring a PC hard reset, so that I have to disable monitor suspend in Cinnamon. However, I also read reports with similar problems on Windows with disabling certain energy saving options as workaround, basically achieving the same.

Wayland has been "almost ready" for ten years. I use Sway on my laptop but I'm pretty sure my gaming desktop will be stuck on X11 for another ten years. Too many issues still unsolved, especially since it has an Nvidia card.
