Back in my study days software dev was this weird almost magical thing where you tell a electrocuted stone in a fantasy language what to do.
Now after working in the field for 4 years it has lost its shine and I mostly connect software dev to work grind and people who complain even though they just don’t read.
Maybe the time is near to look into a new field of work. Maybe it’s just not my kind of work to earn money. It’s not even like my higher ups are unsatisfied with my work. My current boss complimented my work a lot in our meeting last week.

Is this normal for developers to feel/experience?

You evidently lack the social skills to do the job you are doing and get overwhelmed by interactions.
You may need another job that's more technical or scientific.

That's entirely normal. At least once a week I think of changing to something else but every time I come to the same conclusion: I wouldn't make it in any other industry.

It might get better by changing projects, it might get worse. This is not a sprint (eheheheheeee) but an endurance race.

Id say it depends whether you enjoy software dev or is it just a mean to get money/job ? Because personally dev has become a bit more tame but I still mostly enjoy it, I also do it on the side to keep my interest going in new things etc… It’s hard to describe but I’d say it takes a special kind of person to do this line of work, if you feel you don’t fit in, then yeah might be time to look at other things
