Non develpers often think that Java and JavaScript are related. After being forced to work with both I started agreeing. Clearly the share the podium for being some of the worst crap ever created by a computer scientist

Why do you think that? I think they both make good use in their own way. From a non-dev perspective Java has done a lot of good since it's run on a lot of devices.

@simeg IMO you don't write an app in Java. You architect it.

I gave up on it a long time ago

@xroad what do you mean you architect it?

@simeg compared to many other languages to write even a small app in Java you have to think like a software architect. You gotta worry about high level stuff and work your way down before you even start coding. There's no such thing as a simple Java app

@xroad well sure, but that wasn't what the rant was about. I agree that it's not the best option to use Java to write a small application.

Mine was just a rant but on a more serious note. I do not like JavaScript, as I dl believe many of its features are just awefully designed, starting from the whole concept of protypes. Java is better, but due to its boiler plate code I am not a fan. Bottom line its a matter of taste. I am sure there is a lot of people hating on C++ or Python which I both enjoy a lot
