Apparently there is still moderation on here, yesterday someone got doxxed (pls no extra info in the comments) and the guy actually got banned. Thanks @dfox

How do you know the guy got banned? I realized the thread dissappeared, which can be the product of two downvotes as well.

@horus I was subscribed to the poster, can't find the notifications anymore. Also when I search for his name he's gone.

I'm mildly annoyed that Kaine is still here, but it's true that he hadn't doxxed anyone.

@lorentz AoK is more like someone having Tourette most of the time. One doesn't ban a user for having a mental disorder. The community can still downvote the most inappropriate texts and occasionally AoK actually does produce reasonable and coherent text. Maybe, being able to participate in a social network even helps him get better long term.

All the information is still available in AoK's posts. No new information was ever added on devRant so I don't think it can be considered doxing. Harassment, perhaps, but the other party has been doing that successfully for a long time on and off without repercussions.

@Oktokolo probably half of the community has lost their downvote rights from fighting spam accounts at this point though.

@Oktokolo yup, I lost mine for downvoting many posts by a spammer account that posted links long ago and never got them back.

@lorentz there were multiple active users at the time with that ban but there was a rumour that it wouldn't be permanent. It might be that I'm on dfox's special list for some unknown reason, though.

The only reason why AoK is STILL on devRant is precisely because there’s NO moderation.
He should’ve been banned a long time ago.

@red-knot I think the moderation just purposely doesn't extend to rudeness, since that's a key element of the platform. I started a browser plugin to the image of XKit for devrant with features like per-user collapsing of rants and comments, and quote replies, I want to open source it after MVP but I got flooded with work.

@ostream A user pointed out another user's github profile and first name that they themselves had already posted on devrant and commented on said user's behaviour.

Also, I agree with @Electrineer, not even sure this can be considered doxxing as he had already revealed his name and GitHub profile…

@ostream I think @Linux was saying something about a hypothetical person called SomeAsshole or something random. So I made a user named that and replied to his post. Haven't used that user since. Was wondering if I was breaking rules. I don't even know what the login is anymore.

I already had trust issues with this site, but this is just piling up twice more.

Thread disappearing into thin air because someone was banned? Good riddance, it could just be removed by post's author. I'll believe faster in REDACTED than frigging moderation here.
