MS Teams usage is fucking bullshit. no ones got time to learn how to use you.

i don't mind using it too much but holy fuck the cpu usage. i work at a company that insists on pair programming via teams whenever possible which means that my cpu is totally maxed the entire time my screen is shared, cutting my productivity down by probably about 60%.

Is there something you need to learn to use it, really? It just either works or doesn't, it doesn't matter if you have "skills" or not.

IMHO replace mode is the most useless idea in the history of softwares. I don't remember using it ever, since I first used PC as an elementary school student.

If I type wrong, I simply use backspace. I don't press left arrow key several times, switch to replace mode, and type the correct letters! That's dumb! And more keystrokes!

There should be only one mode: insert mode.

Overtype mode is a piece of ancient history. It's rarely useful today but it probably was easier to comprehend for people who were accustomed to typewriters.

@electrineer difference between chats and channels, public/private/standard channel differences, their proper configuration (because you don't want to know how it ends when done by management learning on the fly, not even testing it beforehand), overlays/apps, power automate itegration ... and that's just from user perspective; from the crumbs i've seen it's much worse on the admin side

it's still slow piece of shit which i hate immensely, but there are features worth learning to make it suck bit less or to avoid common pitfalls

@qwwerty the useful features are obvious, the extra stuff you avoid entirely. And SharePoint sucks as always. Simple.

This may be a weird question but, WTF is pair programming? Is it exactly what it sounds like?

Like you connect with a team member via Teams/Meet and code the same problem?
