    it's a hype at first. After a while (few weeks), the excitement wears off.

    @netikras I have the Valve Index for years now and it‘s still amazing for me.
    Many games are trash though.
    Some are amazing.
    HL Alyx mods are great and there is still new content produced by the community.

    Good for you.. I personally have no interest at all in VR, for now. That's because our world's technology isn't there yet. Not in another one hundred years. VR in fictions, send images directly to our brain. It doesn't strain our eyes.

    Our current state of VR, requires us to put a screen one inch in front of our eyes, which hurts my eyes after prolonged use. It's also suffocating and nauseating.

    Just don’t use it for nsfw stuff. Also playing games with the window open or a fan helps with motion sickness

    @wackOverflow are there nsfw games in vr?

    And why the warning? Makes me one want to hear the backstory 😁

    @netikras A lot of people can't handle the movements in VR while your body is not moving (motion sickness)

    Maybe having the feeling you are on a bike or feeling the air moving can help but not sure...

    Most also cannot read when in a moving car.

    (If you can, you can most likely handle VR stuff too)

    @Grumm I honestly think that it‘s something that you can get used to. Do small sessions until you start to feel sick. Make a long enough break and then repeat (maybe even on the next day). Don‘t wait for too long until using it again.
    I got used to it within a week or so after initially having strong motion sickness within seconds after use. Now I can go for hours without any problems.

    @Lensflare can you use it as just a monitor on your head?
  • 0
    @iiii sure you can. But I prefer a normal monitor for that. 🙂
  • 1
    @Lensflare of course. The headset is quite bulky, as I understand

    @daniel-wu

    Recently tried it, and after the interest was non-existant - I saw it as an opportunity to do something fun. Since I work home alot

    @Linux that's why I'm thinking of something like Nreal Air. They are known to provide a really large display

    @Lensflare I don't care :D I can play for hours with games that move all over the place.

    @Grumm VR master race! 😂

    @wackOverflow Isn't interactive virtual reality porn or cybersex actually what it would be best for? Not too much movement and the sexual stimulation should help suppress the motion sickness further.

    @Lensflare To be honest, I expected worse.

    Most tell that they cannot look at the screen to long. But damn it never hurt my eyes.

    Sometimes I lose track of time when playing beatsaber, always that one last track xD

    So, what are your experiences? Do you still use the VR headset and what aboit motion sickness?
  • 1
    @Oktokolo

    I use from time to time, but not that often anymore since it has been occupied almost constantly by my ten year old.
    He has sunk hundreds of hours into that now

    @Linux his eyes turning into rectangles already?

    @Linux So do you plan on buying a second game PC and Headset for you or do you just play after your child has gone to sleep.

    And what are your thoughts after having for some months now? Is it a huge improvement over a normal monitor? Did you puke?
  • 1
    @Oktokolo

    I did not puke, and I dont regret buying it either :)
    Playing Beat Saber, Angry Birds and other small mini games is quite satisfying.
    I have not been able to connect it to my PCs since my GPUs suck

    @Linux Angry Birds VR? That sounds fun. I’ll need to check it out.
