heikomat6868yPassword managers are your friend! A pain to setup the first time (if you have many passwords), but you'll never again forget one!
-
Silvus1038y@heikomat I still don't trust them, public ones have been getting hit. Running my own is an option but yeah, a pita.
-
heikomat6868y@Silvus password managers don't have to be online. I just have a keypass database. It's a simple, master-password-protected .kdbx file
-
That must have caused some panic attack.
Did you manage to discover the password in the end? -
Password managers are too mainstream and bulky. Just use gpg -c and a spreadsheet!
-
@JuvenileTapir Or the pass utility (passwordstore.org), it's a command line gpg password manager.

Had three servers running in prod. For extra security all of them were encrypted (hdd encryption) just in case.
"mate, servers need a quick reboot, that alright?"
Me: yeah sure!
"oh hey they're encrypted, what's the password?"
