I don't think its the best for larger projects (not fast than sourcetree). Also it doesn't have support for gitlab and CLI (i know its designed for GUI but there should be a fallback mechanism)

Cybork10478yMy senior was starting to get really pissed @ my fuck ups with rebasing and cloning shit outta nowhere. then I found gitkraken (adding to several brilliant tips from my sr)

At previous job we had an error with gitkraken. We just couldn't merge. We didn't find the error eventually. At just turned to SourceTree and all went vanilla...I mean fine...you get it.

arantr21918y@lostinmyworld Yes, sometimes it fails. It's not perfect. I have sent some feedback and they responded immediately. Now waiting for bugfixes and new features.

@Sarcaxxo , does it support creating merge requests ?
Currently i am using it and finding difficult when compared to sourcetree. -
Looks great. I had an issue with setting some scripts executable bits, so had to resort to SmartGit

Axis8128yI've been using git kraken for a very long time now. It took away the learning curve of using advanced git functions and now I can use them quite easily, I the visuals give you a good understanding of what is actually happening with each action you take

Lightor7798y@Prometheus I don't have stats on that but I'd think so. They've moved to a very multi threaded approach that really increases speed in the 2.5 update.

arantr21918y@Prometheus Same as pull requests. Just the gitlab way of calling them.
But actually merge request is what it should be called! -
@arantr i meant that it doesn't have support for creating merge requests. In case of sourcetree it has.So 😅

Gitkraken because it makes working with branches, submodules, merging, amending, rebasing, squashing, stashing etc. super easy and visual. Especially useful in huge projects.
