@ScribeOfGoD Firefox and ublock origin is easiest.

Rooting and AdAway is better, because it blocks ads in all apps... but requires rooting.

For your home, I would advise something like a pfsense router with pfblockerng, which blocks all ads in all apps, on all devices on your LAN/WiFi, on the router level.

Then always VPN your phone and laptop through your pfsense box at home so it works on 4g and public WiFi as well (increases safety too!).

@jschmold Because 99% of ads are really annoying, and sometimes even harmful. I get that people want to monetize their sites, but the Internet is an STD ridden hellhole. I whitelist things I support, or preferably donate or support in other ways.

They are the ones wasting their advertising dollars. It's probably pay per click but they could have used negative keywords to reach their target audience and improve all of their metrics.

They either can't afford an expert or the creators don't know enough about advertising to know there's a problem.

If you're logged into a google account you can change your ad personalization settings. For some reason my main factors (largest buttons) were domain.com and list-assistant even though I use neither. I turned them off and hey presto no more freaking wiz ads.

@Wildgoose it's been driving me nuts for a while too, I click their adds on purpose sometimes, I'm only just looking into it now how I can stop them shoving their f'n micky mouse 'web design' service in my face daily.

My Solution; Considering how much I use YT, I've now subscribed to their premium service so it's add free.
