The Restrict Act is a blatant power grab, after the kangaroo court which failed to propagandize US to hate tiktok. I guess not many even know what that means. Sleepwalking into information lockdown, tyranny.

    See https://congress.gov/bill/...

And what people are already saying about it.

Here's an idea, feed it through ChatGPT using DAN prompt and ask it to spit out what constitutional freedom it violates.

Who even likes tiktok to begin with

The question isn't even about tiktok or not. Thats the difference between you and me. I believe adults can moderate themselves and doesn't need the government.

@jassole it's not the adults that are governed here

@electrineer wtf are you even on about? Adults use it, businesses use it. If nobody uses it, there is no need for this bill according to your logic. So gtfo...

You can tell a bill is especially bad if it has bipartisan support.

@spongessuck or if one of the co-sponsors is yours truly slimy snake Lindsey Graham. And a bunch of insider traders.

Oh great, it's not even about banning tiktok at all but rather banning basically any free use of the Internet. Even mentioning tiktok when talking about this bill is a huge misrepresentation.

Seems less like a "ban tiktok act" and more like a "ban privacy act"

@electrineer of course and "be fined not more than $1,000,000, or if a natural person, may be imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both", great start right there.

Meaning you can't think for yourself, if you do here is the 20 years jail and or 1 million dollar fine. Worse than any authoritarian regimes you can think.

Tiktok shitok banana court was just a pretext to push this. Same goes for the patriot act that was supposed to be temporary. From the beloved intelligence community that produced Iraq war

There's nothing wrong with banning tiktok just everything else in the bill...

@randomdude the bill appears to sanction regular people who use VPN to access blocked services, and it might push VPN providers altogether out of the country. Tiktok is crap but that bill goes way beyond tiktok.
