Dear friends and family, just because I'm a devloper does not mean I know how to fix all of your IT issues. I am not IT.

As dehumidifiers (currently helping a friend program theirs cause they know I am IT), refrigerators, lights, doorbells, tv's, robot pets etc become part of the Internet of things they will expect and need help on everything they own 😁

I'm already fixing those things!😂 somebody asked me the other day to take apart and re-wire their "smart" scale from FitBit...

It got so frustrating trying to help my mom, the only salvation was screen sharing (gotomeeting or logmein) where I could take over her computer. Didn't help when she lost her router password and couldn't connect to the internet anymore... but other than that!

Hell even if you know how it doesn't make it your responsibility.

My girlfriend's family has asked me to fix everything from "my computer is running slow" to "hey can you fix my VCR"..

I stopped helping... They have no idea about any of it.
My answer to them is now:
Keep your mouse, keyboard and display.
Go to Best Buy and buy a new computer for $200. Problem fixed.

Oh and make sure you re install all 7 of your anti virus applications and your ask Jeeves toolbar... You know, to speed it up. Lol
Oh, and make sure you install weather bug into your startup items. In fact, just throw everything in there... Assuming that you even understand what startup items are.

Also, just because you get one popup ad while browsing the internet, does not mean you have a virus.

What about removing Baidu? 😫
