So ive made some big improvements to skyRant the Android devRant client and the new version is out on Github!

There's now a fully working Avatar Builder (which actually took a while since it was not really documented to this point) and search, profile editing and community projects page have been added. :).

@AndroidJester so basically i created a server (for my raspberry pi) that lets users have more functionality for devRant, like reacting with emojis to posts.

but somehow it has to be prooven to the server that the user is the rightful owner of the devRant account.

to achieve this, the client will post a key(timestamp) its gets from the server to this rant. then it will ask the server to check for the key on this rant for the key

now the server knows its the legit owner :)

anyhow if u r annoyed by notifs u can tap on 'unsubscribe to rant'

@joewilliams007 The app's good. One thing you may want to look at is marking notifications as read if they belong to the same thread..

Like let's say a thread has 2 comments of mine and someone upvotes both of them. I'll see 2 notifications for it but clicking it wouldn't mark both of those read.

About that, if you tap the refresh Button on the notifications page (or simply reopen the notification page) all orange from the same rant will become white. devRant automatically marks them as red when tapping on one.

Thus you dont need to tap all (just refresh with the btn)! I could ofcourse make the notif page refresh automatically when tapping on one orange. Will consider that or make it an option!

Sending messages in Matrix now also work (in my testing). Will release that update soon!

@joewilliams007 why have I commented here? Is this part of skyrant? If so, please make it transparent, explain why, and make the comment explain itself, not just a number. It's problematic in many ways. Not only did I not know if this, but if this is related to me signing up then it clearly shows when I got the app. A little bit weird privacy wise...

@ScriptCoded SkyRant recently gained support for deleting comments

@joewilliams007 It may be worth looking into deleting these comments after the verification process now.

@ScriptCoded that moment when someone is completly phased out. I didn't think people would be this stupid, but i guess i have to make it even more obvious. Then the huge fucking checkbox and warning sign 😅.

@ScriptCoded maybe next time when signing up to Whatsapp/facebook. Read a little more about what they do. i tried to make it the most obvious. bit people will still ignore every warning. Please see the source code and github source code explaination aswell, if you are unsure whats it about.
