@aritzh You use the joystick to control a little rectangle that bounces a flying ball on the LCD display.

l0nd0n327yThe Barduino/the Inebriator/Hacker House robotic bartender... I think there's a theme here lol

aritzh7527y@l0nd0n Well, we were definitely looking for something simpler, because we don't have all that hardware at our disposal.

You could build a music player or a device that checks the alcohol rate from breath (it might not be very accurate, but at least it's useful).

divs1277ySince you've got a ultrasonic sensor you can make something like obstacle detector car or room area measurer car.
RFID and LCD can be used to create a smart card entry system. -
aritzh7527y@divs Those two sound really cool. Wo don't have any wheels, but we might as well just improvise something with bottlecaps. I thought about the card entry system, but I would like to be able to get something physical to open, like a small wooden door.

aritzh7527y@sanse1992 Hmm that sounds cool. I have some old relays laying around that should work for that, in fact.
I always like these projects that interact with other things
Hey guys, my gf and I want to do something with the Arduino we got. We are getting a CS degree, so programming is not a problem, but we have quite basic knowledge of electronics.
What could be a cool simple (but not too introductory) project we could do?
The arduino came with a bunch of sensors (ultrasonic distance sensor, humidity, ...) some input (joystick, RFID reader/writer, buttons) and some outputs (LCD display, 8x8 LED matrix, bunch of color and RGB leds).
