Ah relatable. Did your school have computer classes other than "This is a mouse, this is the monitor, here's how to use Microsoft Word"?
-
@jschmold I often didn't do the work, yet still passed the class with a 100. Except for the one week we did bare bones HTML sites, but that was about it.

spooky16947y@jhh2450 no, but I moved to an academy that offered CS college courses after my first year of high school

@spooky Ah that must be nice lol.
On a side story, I had a friend that was saying something about a school assignment being to make a website. I, being a good friend (and just wanting to test my skills) offered to make it for him, free of charge. He was all for the idea.
So, I login to his account where the project information was, only to see the project called for a Google Sites website, not a "from scratch" one.
I wasn't sure if I should still do it for him or nah, so I was like "Sorry man, I've never used Google Sites before, so I can't help you. I make my sites from scratch." (I wasn't lying either; I've never used Sites before.)
Idk, I just feel that's something that every student in the 21st century should be able to comprehend and complete. I mean, I've got a 12 year old cousin over here making a Google Site with games and stuff so it wouldn't be blocked by the schools site blocker. If he can do it, you too should be able to.
I'm out of high school now but one of my 'fondest' memories of being known as the computer geek was that people would always ask me how they could use the inspect element tool to change their grade permanently. I never had the patience to explain lmao
