So it turns out when you tell normal people that your a software developer, they don't know what that is which explains why they don't ask you to fix anything hardware related

Been there. Doesn't work.
They want you then to explain what you do and there is a point where they understand nothing except that you are a some kind of techi.
And then they will ask for hardware fixes. Or software fixes...

@DelError I always get that awkward silence. I don't feel awkward, but I can see they feel awkward lol
