    You could try creating a second profile. And don't tell anyone that it's you.

    Secondary social media accounts are always a good idea. But there is a lot that you can post on behalf of an uncovered primary account, even one with an obvious nickname.

    People might think they know that it's you, but do they really know? Unless you work in a startup with no more than 3 fellow devs, how could someone be 100% sure?

    I used to fear consequences when I started to post critical stuff on sites like trustpilot and kununu (Germany's glassdoor clone), only to find out that I hadn't been the only one. That's when it started to be fun, like that game where some players are supposed to be secret werewolves, accusing everybody else to be the actual culprits.

    But yes, use an alternative account when in doubt.

    devRant seems to be one of those sites where they don't care much about people having more than 1 account; even google officially approves of having several accounts for YouTube or drive (so you can have some more free storage);

    the only ones who might care are probably the ones with a more serious stance of their reputation system, like stankOverflow.....

    I think the concern is that people might know who you are not by your nickname but by what you write and how you write it.
