Hi guys! I'm new here, it seems fantastic!

Any of you is a front-end enthusiast that want to learn about UI & UX design? I'm a student, I don't know about work world. Is someone out there works as front-end dev and designer? Is it possible?

It seems developers are descriminated about graphic design. What do you think?

It's certainly possible. I'm a coder at heart but I have a passion for UI and UX as well.

It is sad they are considered such different disciplines. I know a lot of devs who are passionate about front-end as well, especially when it comes to usability.

The problem is many consider the "design" of a site/app to be a visual ability, which certainly there is a visual aspect to it to be sure, but imo usability is far more than visuals, and I think a logically disciplined mind is often better at realizing the flaws in an interface than someone approaching it purely from a visual standpoint.

But I digress. I tried to move into a UX role at my last company, and while it "officially" happened (to the point where I signed a new contract and everything), they still just ended up having me do development in the end anyway.

So that was a bust… but alas, there are definitely coders out there with an interest in UI/UX. Seems the trick is convincing the rest of the world that!
