Eh, Microsoft is getting better. So much open source, they're moving to git from some horrible VCS, and all in all things are looking up for them.

@iam13islucky More open source, more free, less libre.
With everything up to 7 I felt like "I own this OS, I decide what happens", even though the source was closed. It was not fully customizable, but you had a lot of control over applications, settings and network traffic.
With ads on the start screen, continuously changing features and applications, metrics being sent... not so much. Even if it was 98% open source, I would still not own windows, I'm just its powerless user.
I'm not a diehard Stallman fan, binary Nvidia Linux drivers can be audited as a black box, and you can determine that they're not malicious. But I get his point — once those black boxes become are big and malicious, it doesn't matter that a significant percentage is open sourced, you're still its bitch.
That's like saying: "80% of my body is NOT cancer, isn't that great?" -
@bittersweet meh. Still doesn't feel malicious to me.
Let alone that has nothing to do with the old ass xkcd comic above
Very true...
