Hey, if Domino's builds a bridge they can charge whatever the fuck they want and let their own vehicles pass for free. What's that? Domino's hasn't built bridges like that because it's not profitable? Oh, I see.
Even though I'm generally pro net neutrality, it's exactly this sort of terrible metaphor that could push me to the other side. -
@Greggergalactic exactly. The metaphor is terrible.
Regarding ISP choices, I recently downgraded my home internet from 1000/1000 to 200/200, and that opened up four more ISPs available to me, for a total of seven. And changing ISPs is done automatically and immediately at my request, without anyone even visiting my home. -
asgs112757yFor fuck's sake, this is a metaphor to get the concept into people's minds who don't have a clue or don't even bother to care

JsonC1136277y@Greggergalactic yup! Monopolies hurt the consumer, while lining the pockets of a select few
-
@Greggergalactic And? It's not your infrastructure and its not your service.
And as far as favoring content providers goes, the rules haven't stopped ISPs from integrating certain services with their hardware or exempting certain traffic from data limits. So it really has only curbed one avenue of dickery that may or may not have been perpetrated upon you. -
asgs112757y@Greggergalactic you hit the nail right on the head. You must be the person who understood this metaphor the most of all devranters here
