Hello, trying to find the best combination for a little website/app without a lot of functionalities. For now I was projecting on Materialize + Angular and I'm looking for a PHP framework because I want to get some experience. What do you suggest ?

Angular *and* PHP? You've got a rough road ahead.

Laravel for medium to large projects. Codeigniter for small ones.

That's What I use anyway.

@chadd17 Please don't troll, I really don't like neither Javascript or Microsoft garbage so ASP and Node are away (and I tried them!). I don't know Ruby and Django is still to much for I need to do. I need a framework to handle client side events and make HTTP requests, nothing more. So I could use jQuery but many I want to learn something so PLEASE don't troll about PHP and Angular.

I prefer Symfony as PHP framework.

@Artemix I Keep Spectre.css in mind , thanks but I need some Javascript components in Materialize (Pickers !) . Then I'll checkfor what you told for the backend part :)

Think about the probable and use the best tool for the job.
