Well it does hog memory when using multiple tabs, but it releases it as well when you close them. On the contrary, using multiple tabs in Firefox , and even after closing most of them, propotional memory is not released by firefox!

@tnuhb Well, from what i've heard, FF too is going for a process per tab model, lets see how that goes!!

Give it a try to Opera, a friend mentioned it a couple months ago and I'm using it since. My ram is happier, true story.

Chrome is quietly becoming an OS under the hood. The browser thing is only a cover.

@camillo777 well I'm on a Chromebook right now so no shit.

As far as I can see on the screenshot, CPU resources are taken only by active tab (each tab has separate process in Chrome). The rest of tabs have 0% CPU. As far as RAM consumption goes, it would take about the same if it would run single process.
