??? It's the same as my view on guys coding. I hate them all equally when I have to maintain their code..

aaron1149yRead back what you wrote. Now imagine you wrote it about a guy. Would you ever talk about how you like working with guys because of their smile?? Seriously WTF?
-
Dude seriously, are you asking me if I find offensive a post about how awesome coders girls can be, when at the same time I comment about their naturally sweet behavior? No, this isn't a sexist joke, move on :)
-
Well naturally sweet behaviour isn't strictly true and yeah this is a teeny bit sexist but not in a derogatory way.
I've seen coder girls sat, in like three day old clothes, living on a diet of red bull and Cheetos muttering something incoherently about 'memory allocation just isn't doing what I want' and if you approach them you get a warning glare followed by either a flying shoe or laptop, depending on how long they've been stuck on a problem.
They literally behave like guys do when it comes to code, and THATS why I like girls who code. It gives them the opportunity to do whatever the fuck they like in an environment of guys who don't give a shit if they're wearing makeup or the latest shoes or whatever. And that's not to say they can't either; just if it can't be shown on a screen, don't expect anyone to notice.
Development offices really do have the potential to be super egalitarian environments. -
aaron1149yNaturally sweet behaviour. Do you honestly not see the problem with your language here?
You know that you're not being a good ally yeah? Woman want equality in the work place, to be respected because they're damn good at their job not wonder if they're there because of their smile or because you think they're sweet.
When you talk about male colleagues do you focus on their appearance (smile) or how you think they're sweet? Then you shouldn't focus on that when talking about your female colleagues either. -
I get what you're saying, I also agree and respect it. Wasn't my intention to make a sexist joke. I apologize if it was taken as one.

aaron1149yHey no problem. We all say the wrong thing sometimes, even for the right reason. What separates the good and bad people is wether or not you learn from it and avoid doing the same thing in the future.
I don't know your view on girls coding but I love it. They're vicious, focused and can do their job and instantly they can smile at you and make you forget everything. Thank you for being around the office.
