@pajaja making use of someone's labor without it being a gift and something they normally charge for is legally considered to be theft of services. If someone agrees to come paint your house, and you provide all the paint and material, then you refuse to pay, you're not just being an ass, you're stealing from them.

@pajaja the lack of additional work does not mean it isn't theft. Theft of services is anytime you makes use of someone else's labor, where they expect you to pay, and you don't pay. It's still their labor, even if they only have to work on it once.

Yes, I know you're an open source advocate. I know you argue against commercial software. That doesn't mean you're justified in illegally using commercial software without paying.

It all depends of the country's wealth and the purchasing power of the people there if they are barely making money to survive they can't even think to buy a game with 30-60 bucks also many countries do not even allow people to pay for things online and that's what happens then!

@Latsky As far as I know, there are cracks for all major software and games (e.g. Windows 10 & GTA V are easily cracked.)

@Latsky Everything can be cracked. It's impossible to create uncrackable software. You can make the process very long and tedious but you cannot make it impossible

But don't let that put you off from making an app. People don't really pirate apps as they pirate pc software

@RevThwack I'm actually a free (as in freedom) software advocate not an open source one, and I have nothing against commercial software, only proprietary one. Also I have nothing against people getting paid for their work, after all we are the ones writing software. And I never said that it's OK to use other people's work without their permission for personal gain. I am however against comparing people that make copies of software to violent criminals (pirates or whatever), or other bullshit that proprietary software lobbyists would like.

Btw, I do have Windows installed on multiple PCs alongside some other proprietary software and close to 200 games on Steam, and I have valid licenses for all of them, so I'm not illegally using anything as you said.
