bhedia2317yIt was indeed shocking. My friends and I had an entire listening to the best of LP. Somehow each song seemed to have that save me vibe.

@divil in most cases I'd agree, but with artists it's a bit different. People found comfort in his music, and knowing that we will never hear a new song from him is what makes his death so terrible.
Honestly, I didn't even know his name before he died, but I had hoped to hear him live one day and now, that can never happen. -
@divil it depends on the person. If a Kardashian died, it wouldn't affect me because they mean nothing to me, but when Gene Wilder or Alan Rickman died, they're work helped me through some dark times. Gene made me laugh so much that when I heard he passed, I was numb for days.
With music, it's even stronger, because you listen to a song for so long you feel like you know them. The song becomes okay if you, and knowing that someone who practically helped shape who you are today through their music has died, it feels like you've lost a mentor. -
afreitas2547yKeeps hitting me at different times and in different severities. Last night when Given Up came on was kind of surreal. That song usually gets me hype, and IMO is one of Bennington's best vocal performances. I just kind of stood there as it was playing.

I read it on Facebook while at a blink-182 gig, so a night of rock was still had. I suppose you can't make music like Linkin Park without having some demons.

I'm very sad. Been sad for the days since it happened. I'm glad you're writing this, I wanted to but appeared off topic to me..
Chester and LP we're basically my adolescence, and their songs still talk to me nowadays, I'm feeling like I lost something -
@divil I get where you're comming from too. Damn, people are complicated, huh? π

Anybody else feeling it after Chester Bennington's death recently? I'm nearly 30 years old, so I listened to him a lot through my teenage years. Linkin Park was practically my favorite band back then. I'm pretty bummed out man. π
Damn.
