What if your main telecom provider is down? Can you continue to work, code, take customer orders? Do you have a redundant strategy - and no it can't be going to lunch.

    Localhost for the win!

I happen to think going to lunch is a great backup strategy. I should probably plan for that but right now I really dont, I'd probably just switch to a localhost project.

Two different ISPs, both with different "last miles". Our main application is also only available on our local network. On top of that, we do have a back up generator that is set to kick on during a power outage (like when the transformer outside our office blew last week)

    Very nice

We'd be screwed. The main application we work ok runs on local Docker containers, but the application itself connects to outside databases.

Can you add a redundant telecom line from another provider?

I don't think it would be in the budget right now since we are a start up. I'll definitely keep it in mind.

I don't think you can have redunant telecom, but if you have the correct type of fiber, you can move your telecom from copper to fiber and have it backed with better SLAs.
