Windows: restarting in 10 seconds

Me: probably just a bug or something like that *click OK button*

10 seconds later

Me: it's no a bug! IT'S NOT A BUG! let me save my stuff

(I don't now why windows did that it made some kind of update without warning except for the 10 seconds and then I had some problem s like I couldn't connect to a SQL server and the computer was super slow)

Don't want to be the typical Linux bitch here but Windows fucked up update behavior was essentially the reason I switched.

Are you on Windows 10 Pro? I can help you:

    gpedit.msc
Computer Configuration → Windows Components → Windows Update → Don't restart when users are logged in

@filthyranter WHY IS THIS NOT THE DEFAULT BEHAVIOUR?
  • 2
@DRHAX34 Because many users abuse it to postpone updates forever and then complain when their Windows 7 installed 100 updates when they finally shutdown their PC once...

    Shutdown -a
Make a runnable script from it, it will save you many times

@DRHAX34 this is the question I ask myself anytime I open Windows settings.
